MaterialCalc is a free library of construction and home-improvement material calculators. Each tool answers one practical question: how much material — and how much money — does my project actually need?

We built these because the alternative is doing the math by hand at the hardware store, or trusting a one-line widget that hides its assumptions. Every calculator here shows its working: the formula, the waste allowance, and where the cost comes from. Nothing is uploaded, no account is required, and the calculations run instantly in your browser.

How we keep it accurate

Every formula is documented on our methodology page and covered by automated tests against known-correct values. When industry practice gives a range — like waste percentages or labor multipliers — we tell you the range rather than hiding a single guess.
